Dara Albrecht

Facilitator, Global Scholar

Hi y’all! I’m Dara, and I’m so excited to join AMP as one of the Global Scholar Facilitators this summer. I was a Global Scholar myself four summers ago, so I am really familiar with the program and really excited to learn and grow with the Scholars as we discuss important global issues. I am currently a rising junior at Yale University in Connecticut, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Biodiversity and Conservation. At Yale, I am the Director of Master Classes for Yale Fashion House, Business Manager/Social Chair for Yale Out of the Blue Acapella, and the Director of Diversity and Inclusion Efforts for Yale Pi Beta Phi. I have three jobs- I am a co-manager of the Squiche (my residential college’s snack bar), a Paleobotany Lab Assistant at the Yale Science Museum, and a Science Tour Guide for the Admissions Office. Finally, I am involved with my residential college’s sustainability committee and the Environmental Education Collaborative on campus. Something I’m proud of: I went to Australia last year to perform desert research on an extremely deserted part of this planet! I am so proud of myself for moving to a foreign country alone and learning so much about desert ecology. My superpower: I love to sew my own clothes and am a MASTER at thrift flipping and finding unique items without hurting the planet!
